Jonny McMahon was in explosive form for Bullnose Morris A as he smashed off sixteen dolls (6-5-5) to inflict a shock defeat at The New Club A 2-1. Bullnose won the opening leg at a canter 25-17, however The New Club responded well winning the next leg 31-26. The final and deciding leg, the four doll handicap start the Bullnose get came into play as they set a whopping 35 in which the New Club could only reply with 24.
Premier leaders The Gladiators A suffered their first defeat of the season at The George A 2-1 with some good individual scoring. The George set and won the opening leg 32-24 and then chasing a set of 24 The George sailed past with a reply of 30. The George looking for maximum points set 26 in the final leg however The Gladiators were up for the task and hit 29 in reply to grab a point. James Morrison (5-6-3) and Kevin Stuart (5-5-4) both hit fourteen dolls for The George while Andy Beal (4-4-5) and Kevin Giles (3-5-5) were top dogs for The Glad’s.
The Swan A move to within a point of The Glad’s with a close 2-1 win at Garsington Sports Club A. The first leg was tied 21-21 with the Swan winning it on three sticks. Garsington levelled in the next leg 25-21 and then set 21 in the final leg. In reply Swan had to rely on their anchor man Terry Stuart to knock off the winning dolls to end up with 23. The Swan’s Jon Townsend hit a bakers dozen (4-4-5) to remain leading doll scorer.
Six Bells A Quarry continue to struggle in the top flight after visitors Yarnton British Legion came away with maximum points. Henry Johnson led the way with thirteen dolls (4-6-3) as they won all three legs 24-17, 22-21, 24-18.
The Woodman had a comfortable 3-0 win at home to The Black Prince thanks to Eddie Edwards (5-3-6) and Ray Grant (5-5-4) who both hit fourteen dolls in the leg scores of 31-22, 26-23, 27-21.

In Section 2 The Six Bells D Pete Rampton was in fine form as he clanged off fourteen dolls (4-5-5) as they came from behind to beat The New Club B 2-1. New Club easily won the first leg 25-20 but then fell to pieces in the next leg losing it 19-10. Six Bells wrapped up victory in the final leg 24-19 and move level top of the table.
The Swan B also won 2-1 and stay level with The Six Bells after they beat The Six Bells A Kidlington. With the game nicely poised at 1-1 (24-22, 19-23) The Swan won the decisive final leg by the odd doll 20-19. Simon King threw well for The Swan with thirteen dolls (5-4-4).
The Crown boosted their title chances with a maximum win at home to Red Lion Kidlington. They won a low scoring first leg 16-10, and then improved in the next two legs 25-15, 26-19. Den Sellar for The Crown bagged himself a six in his thirteen doll haul (3-4-6) while team mate Kenny Adams also hit a six in his dozen dolls.

In Section 3 King & Queen beat The Six Bells B Kidlington 3-0 in a close contest. The first leg King & Queen set and won 14-12 and then were set fourteen in the next leg by The Six Bells. After a steady reply The King & Queen left anchor man Richard Wright four to win and he did not disappoint whipping off the winning doll with his final stick. They then wrapped up maximum points in the final leg 17-14.

In Section 4 The Red Lion A Marston clipped The Blackbirds wings with a 3-0 win at home. Lead off man Clive Tutton got them off to a perfect start in the opening leg with a six and they went on to win the leg 24-18.The second leg was tied 15-15 with The Lion winning it on three sticks. They then went on to wrap up the game in the final leg 23-19. Tutton ended up with fourteen dolls (6-3-5).
Leaders Donnington Club A suffered their second defeat on the bounce as they lost at The Three Horseshoes 2-1. They started off well winning the opening leg 20-12 but then fell apart in the next two legs losing them 22-14, 19-15. Phil Jackson hit a baker’s dozen (4-3-6) for The Three Horseshoes.
Berkshire House kept their title ambitions alive with a 2-1 win at home to Garsington Sports B. The won the first leg 16-10 and then were set fourteen in the next leg. In reply they left anchor man Nick Chapman five to win and he almost succeeded but fell one short with four to tie the leg. Garsington winning it on three sticks. Berkshire won the third and decisive leg 17-11.

In Section 6 Rose Hill Club B blew away their nearest challengers and hosts The White Hart A Wolvercote 3-0 and move level at the top. White Hart set all three legs and Rose Hill was up to the task winning the first two 9-14, 15-17. The final leg was tighter and was drawn 13-13, with Rose Hill winning it on three sticks.
Vikings Sports D share top spot after beating The Pheasant Inn 2-1 but it could easily have been a 3-0. They won the first two legs 21-9, 18-13 but capitulated in the final leg. Chasing a set of thirteen they could only muster up a reply of eight.
Prince Of Wales remain rooted at the foot of the table after a 3-0 home defeat to Vikings Sports C, but the game was much closer than the score line suggests. They lost the opening leg by one doll 15-14, list the next 18-14 and drew the third 13-13 but lost it on three sticks.

Northway Club A remain unbeaten in Section 7 after coming away from The Bullnose Morris B with a 2-1 win. They had to do it the hard way after losing the opening leg 14-12, Northway responded well winning the next two legs 14-11, 25-11.
