Paul Holt was in cracking form as he clanged off 15 dolls (6-5-4) for The Dogwood in their 3-0 win at Cricketers Arms Littleworth in Section 2. This win boosted their chances of the title as they won all three legs 20-14, 25-19, 23-19.
Elaine May, just like bus, you wait years for your first six and the very next week another one comes along. Gladiators Elaine May whipped off another six in her 10 dolls as Gladiators beat The New Club 3-0. Barry Gilding (3-5-5) and Bryan Munt (2-5-6) both hit 13 for The New Club but it could not stop the Glad’s taking maximum points 20-18, 29-21, 25-24.
Six Bells move into second place after beating The George ‘B’ 3-0. Tony Barret led the way with a dozen dolls (5-3-4) as they won all three legs 24-21, 23-20, 24-23. Gary Coulthard hit a six in his dozen dolls for The George.
Only two dolls separated the top two in Section 3 with The Woodman just getting the better over The Cross Keys 2-1. Woodmen set all three legs and had to rely on a three stick shootout to take the opening leg after it was tied 18-18. They won the next leg 18-17 and finally took maximum points in the final leg 23-22. Pete King was top dog with 14 dolls (4-5-5)

In Section 4 North Oxford Con Club’s Tony Lane bagged himself 14 dolls (5-5-4) and Tony Lane hit a six but it was all in vain as they lost out to The Plough 3-0. The Plough won the opening leg 24-19 and was set a score of 20 in the next leg. After a slow start Plough’s anchor man Len Wing was left four to win, and after missing with his first stick he hit the next four to win the leg. They then went on the win the final leg 21-17.

Ian Sharp banged off 14 dolls 4-6-4 for Chandos Arms ‘B’ in Section 5 as they demolished Cowley Con Club 3-0. The tie was never in doubt as they took maximum points 18-9, 19-17, 22-15.

Section 7 leaders Red Cow crashed at Barley Mow 2-1. After winning the first leg comfortably 13-8 they then fell apart in the next two legs 8-14, 9-12.
Second place Ashton Club took full advantage by defeating Blacks head Inn 3-0. John Cottingham top scored with 9 dolls as they won all three legs 16-6, 11-8, 17-7.

Gary Bastable (2-5-3) and Paul Chapman (3-2-5) both threw well for The Chequers ‘C’ as they beat The Cricketers ‘B’ 3-0. In Section 8. Ken Bradbury also hit 10 (2-4-4) for The Cricketers in the leg scores of 18-12, 17-16, 18-15.

In Section 9 The Nelson shocked leaders Jolly Postboys by beating them away 2-1. Nelson took an early lead winning the first two legs 17-15, 13-8. Postboys came back well to take a point in the final leg 14-9.
Daryl Connelly was on fire for The Six Bells ‘B’ as he hit 13 dolls (5-5-4) but they still lost 2-1 at home to Folly Bridge. Six Bells won the first leg 16-13 but then lost the next two 14-12, 21-15.
