Jason Weller clanged off 15 dolls including a double sixer for The George as they beat Garsington Sports 2-1 in the Premier Section. George took the opening two legs 29-25, 20-19 with Garsington grabbing a point in the final leg 26-25. Team mate Steve Walton bagged himself 13 dolls 3-5-5 while Steve Greenough and Garry Smith hit 12 dolls each for Garsington Sports.
Leaders The Cricketers beat their closest rivals The Six Bells 3-0 but the game was much closer than the score reflects. Cricketers set 29 in the opening leg, Six Bells replied well but still left anchor man Fred Sawyer six to draw the leg, which just proved too much has he fell one doll short with a five. Six Bells set 27 in the next leg but Cricketers were on fire and with a six from Ivor Clarke and Philip Adams they cruised past with a score of 34. Six Bells could only muster up a set of 20 in the final leg, but Cricketers struggled early on and left anchor man Den Sellar four to win. As all anchor men like to do it was with Sellars last stick that knocked off the wining doll to take the leg by the odd doll 20-21. Fred Sawyer top scored with 14 dolls 5-5-4.
The opening two legs had to go to three stick shoot outs between The New Club and Black Swan and the anchor men from both teams played a part. New Club set the first leg with a score of 21. Black Swans anchor man Dave Green whipped off the three dolls to level the score and then go on to win the leg on three sticks. Black Swan set the next leg with 22 and this time it was The New Clubs anchor man Dave Prosser to come to their rescue by hitting five to tie, they then went onto win the leg on three sticks. Final and deciding leg went to the Club men 25-19. Prosser ended up with a bakers dozen 4-5-4.

Ray Townsend smashed off 14 dolls 5-4-4 for The Dogwood as they had to come from behind to beat The Turners Arms in Section 2. After losing the opening leg 20-18 they came back well to win the next two legs 24-20, 26-14. Team mate Paul Holt chipped in with 12 dolls.
Pete Kennett and Mick Jones both hit a six as The Chequers remain unbeaten after their 3-0 win at home to The George ‘B’. The first leg was decided on three sticks after they tied 19-19 but The Chequers ‘B’ were comfortable winners in the next two legs 24-14, 28-22.

Quarry Gate broke their duck and recorded their first win of the season in Section 3 with a 2-1 home win against Highfield Club ‘A’. They claimed victory in the first two legs 18-14, 21-19 before losing the final leg 24-20.
Gardiner Arms David Leopold was in top form as he smashed off 14 dolls 5-5-4 in their 2-1 win against Donnington Club ‘A’. Gardiner Arms won the first two legs 24-17, 20-14 but lost the last leg on three sticks after the leg was tied 20-20.

Red Lion Brill lost their unbeaten record in Section 6 to Northway Club ‘A’. Red Lion never really got going as they lost all three legs 14-11, 21-12, 21-15. Mick Cox with 11 dolls (3-4-4) and Bernie Traynor 10 dolls (4-3-3) threw well for Northway.

Highfield Club ‘B’ continue their push up the league in Section 7 after a close fought win against The Eight Bells. They won the first leg on three sticks after the leg was tied 8-8, won the second leg 11-7 but only just won the final leg on one stick 2-1 after they tied 7-7 on six sticks and 5-5 on three sticks.
Red Cow ‘A’ remains in second place after they beat The Turners Arms ‘B’ 2-1. Roger Herbert led the way with 10 dolls (4-3-3) in the score of 11-5, 11-12, 14-10.

After failing to trouble the doll in his first three games (nine legs) and then missing with his first throw of his fourth game Matt Sinclair from The George Botley finally broke his duck with his 11th throw in Section 12. He recorded a 1, but resumed normal service in the final leg with a blob. George still ran out winner beating the Kite 2-1.
