Six Bells ‘A’ Kidlington need just two more points to be crowned champions of Section 4 after their 3-0 win at The Pheasant Inn ‘A’. Tony Nicholls led the way with an opening six in his eleven doll haul as they won all three legs 19-13, 15-14, 27-18.
Second place Masons Arms ‘A’ lost ground when they lost at Rose Hill Club ‘B’ 2-1. The club men won the first leg 18-16 with The Masons drawing level in the next leg 16-15. The final and deciding leg Rose Hill set and won 19-13.

Six Bells ‘C’ Kidlington consolidated their position at the top of the Premier with a comfortable 3-0 win at The Black Prince ‘B’. Skipper Roger Goodall led the way with fifteen dolls (4-6-5) winning all three legs 27-19, 29-20, 29-26.
The Woodman dropped a leg at Garsington Sports Club ‘A’. They raced to a 2-0 lead 25-23, 25-24 but couldn’t claim maximum points losing the final leg 21-24. Barry Ruffles threw well for Garsington with thirteen dolls (4-6-3).

The Bullnose Morris ‘A’ pull two points clear in a tight Section Two after beating one of their closest rivals Ampleforth Arms ‘B’ 3-0. Anchor man Willy Waite came to their rescue in the opening leg. Chasing a set of 19, in reply Bullnose left Waite needing four to win. After missing with his first two sticks, Waite clanged off the next four to win the leg by the odd doll. Bullnose then completed the maximum win in the next two legs 19-9, 23-14.
Red Lion ‘B’ Eynsham move up into second place with their seventh straight win this time over visitors Kennington Social Club. Red Lion had to fight all the way though as they lost the opening leg 15-19 and then set 23 in the next leg. Kennington replied at a steady pace but left anchor man Steve Walton needing all six to tie and he did not disappoint, clanging off all six. However it was to be in vain as Red Lion won the leg on three sticks. They then wrapped up victory in the final leg 18-14. Walton top scored with twelve dolls (4-6-2).
Rose Hill Club ‘A’ stay in contention but dropped the opening leg at The Golden Ball ‘A’ 14-17. Rose Hill clawed their way back in the next leg on three sticks 10-9 after it was tied 22-22. They then secured the win in the final leg 18-15.

The Chequers ‘A’ scored more dolls than their visitors Vikings Sports ‘A’ (56-54) but still lost out 2-1. Chequers set 14 in the opening leg, and in reply Vikings anchor man Pete Kennett clanged off the four dolls needed to win the leg by one doll. Vikings then set and won the next leg by the odd doll 22-21. Chequers got a deserved point in the final leg 21-17. Kennett top scored with a dozen dolls 4-4-4.

Section 5 leaders New Club ‘B’ had a shock in their opening leg at Green Road Club losing it 13-16. However they recovered well to win the next two legs 21-19, 21-17.
Three scores of seventeen was enough for North Oxford Con Club to seize all three points at home to Vikings Sports ‘C’ replies of 14,11,12. Stewart Wells was top dog with eleven dolls (4-2-5) for The Con Club.

Only two points separate the top three in Section 6. Rose Hill Club ‘C’ lead the way by one point after they had to come from behind to beat hosts Six Bells ‘D’ Kidlington, who won the opening leg 14-11. Rose Hill levelled in the next leg by the odd doll 17-16 and then secured victory in the final leg 14-12.
King & Queen failed to take advantage of Rose Hills slip up as they struggled against The Three Horseshoes. It started of to plan as they won the opening leg 15-12 but a good set of 22 by The Horseshoes in the next leg proved too strong for King & Queen and could only reply with 10. The final and deciding leg King & Queen pinched it 21-20.
Red Lion ‘C’ Eynsham boosted their title ambitions with a 3-0 home win against Seacourt Bridge. James Ormrod hit ten dolls (3-3-4) as they won all three legs 18-12, 17-16, 26-15.

Northway Club ‘A’ dropped a leg at Florence Park Club ‘B’ and that has cost them the lead. The opening leg went to Florence Park 13-11 but that was to be their only success as Northway won the next two legs 18-9, 16-12.
The Blackbird won a high scoring first leg at Red Lion ‘B’ Marston on one stick after it was tied 18-18, and three sticks could not separate them. Blackbird then went on to claim maximum points in the next two legs 16-8, 18-10. Garry Rees threw well for The Blackbird with eleven dolls (3-4-4).
